Acharya Balkrishna Receives Top Ayurveda Honour at Earth Awards 2026 in New Delhi

Acharya Balkrishna has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Vishwa Ayurveda Ratna’ award, recognizing his contributions to promoting Ayurveda on a global scale. The honour was presented during the “Earth Awards and High Impact Sustainability Dialogue 2026,” organized by Net Green Foundation.

The ceremony took place at UNESCO House and was attended by international experts, policymakers, and environmental leaders.

Ceremony Highlights and Dignitaries Present

The event brought together key figures from India and abroad to discuss sustainability and traditional knowledge systems. Among those present were Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi’s Minister for Environment, Forest and Wildlife, and Benno Böer, Head of the Natural Sciences Sector at UNESCO.

Speakers at the event emphasized the strong link between Ayurveda and environmental sustainability, highlighting how traditional systems can contribute to modern ecological solutions.

Balkrishna Dedicates Award to Ayurveda Tradition

Although Acharya Balkrishna could not attend the ceremony in person, he shared a message dedicating the award to India’s ancient Ayurvedic heritage.

He stated that the recognition belongs not to an individual but to a knowledge system that has guided humanity for thousands of years. He emphasized that Ayurveda continues to offer a path toward “healthy and balanced living,” rooted in time-tested principles.

The Net Green Foundation is an international body focused on environmental conservation, climate change, and sustainable development. Through initiatives like the Earth Awards, it honours individuals and organizations working to maintain balance between nature and human life.

The platform also promotes dialogue on integrating traditional knowledge systems with modern sustainability practices.

Acharya Balkrishna has played a significant role in bringing Ayurveda to a global audience by aligning it with modern scientific approaches. Through his work with Patanjali Ayurveda, he has helped make Ayurvedic products widely accessible.

His contributions extend to the conservation of medicinal plants, as well as research and education in traditional medicine. These efforts have contributed to the growing global interest in natural and holistic healthcare systems.
