Actor Archana Puran Singh has shared insights into her lifestyle overhaul after returning from a 15-day Ayurvedic retreat in Bengaluru. At 63, the actor revealed that she has been advised to follow a disciplined daily routine focused on clean eating, early meals, and improved sleep habits.

Speaking on her son Aaryamann Sethi’s YouTube vlog, she described the changes with her characteristic humour: “Mera sab bandh hai (For me, everything is curbed). No meetha. No maida. No fried. Sleep at 10 pm-11 pm. No enjoyment (laughs). I have to eat dinner at 7 pm. Live, laugh, eat because I can’t…”

Diet Overhaul: No Sugar, No Refined Flour, Early Dinner

As part of her Ayurvedic plan, Singh has eliminated sugar, refined flour, and fried foods from her diet. One of the most notable shifts is her dinner timing, now set at 7 pm, significantly earlier than typical routines in the entertainment industry.

The actor has also offered glimpses of her meals on social media, including simple options like rice-flour momos with soy filling. Such meals are designed to be light and easy to digest, aligning with the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition.

Sleep Schedule and Lifestyle Reset

In addition to dietary changes, Singh has adopted a structured sleep routine, aiming to go to bed between 10 pm and 11 pm. This adjustment reflects a broader focus on aligning daily habits with natural body rhythms, a key principle in Ayurvedic living.

The routine marks a notable shift from the demanding schedules often associated with film and television work, where long hours and irregular eating patterns are common.

Expert Insight: Why Such Routines Matter

Health experts note that structured resets like this can be beneficial, particularly for individuals in their 50s and 60s. Reducing sugar, refined flour, and fried foods may help lower inflammation, improve digestion, and stabilise blood sugar levels.

Early dinners allow the body more time to digest food before sleep, supporting metabolism and improving sleep quality. Similarly, sleeping earlier aligns with the body’s circadian rhythm, aiding hormonal balance, appetite regulation, and overall energy levels.

However, experts also emphasise that while strict routines can work as short-term resets, long-term success depends on moderation and sustainability. Gradual adjustments are generally easier to maintain than sudden, restrictive changes.

Personal Glimpses and Family Life

Archana Puran Singh, who has been married to actor Parmeet Sethi since 1992, often shares family moments through vlogs. The couple has two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan Sethi.

In a recent vlog, Singh also spoke about a deeply personal experience—her miscarriage in the late 1990s. Recalling the difficult period, she said, “In the first four years of our marriage, I conceived but could not carry the pregnancy to term. I was shooting for the film Aisi Bhi Kya Jaldi Hai… when I had a miscarriage.”

Parmeet Sethi reflected on that time, saying, “I saw the trauma that you went through. I did not want children at that point. I was happy with our life as it was.”
