High Sugar Levels - From High Sugar Levels to Recovery: Ayurveda Gains Ground in Chronic Illness Care

In an era where chronic conditions often require prolonged treatment, Ayurveda is increasingly being explored as a holistic approach to recovery. At Patanjali Wellness, patients from across India are turning to integrated therapies that combine traditional treatments, yoga, pranayama, and diet-based interventions.

These recovery journeys highlight a growing interest in alternative healthcare systems that focus on overall balance rather than symptom-specific treatment.

Managing Thyroid and Blood Sugar Imbalance

Anupam Kumar Rao, 32, from Bihar, sought treatment alongside his father, who had been dealing with chronic heart issues and high blood pressure. According to Rao, conventional treatments had not provided sustained relief.

After undergoing Ayurvedic therapies, he reported noticeable improvements. “Despite several treatments, nothing seemed to help my father… In just a few days, his condition stabilized,” he said.

Rao also underwent treatment for high blood sugar levels and shared, “Now my sugar levels are completely normal.” Their regimen included therapies such as hydrotherapy and mud packs, along with pranayama practices like Anulom Vilom and Bhramari, yoga, and a controlled diet.

Recovery After Paralysis-Like Symptoms

Akhil Kumar, 67, a retired railway employee from Lucknow, experienced paralysis-like complications during the COVID-19 period. Despite extended allopathic care, he continued to face health challenges.

Turning to Ayurvedic treatment, he followed a structured program under trained practitioners. “With the treatment here, not only did my old illness improve, but several smaller health issues also disappeared,” he said, describing the outcome as life-changing.

His treatment combined therapies, breathing exercises, yoga routines, and dietary discipline.

Addressing Type 1 Diabetes in a Child

Rakesh Kumar from Rajasthan shared his experience of seeking care for his young daughter, who had been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At the time, her blood sugar levels were critically high, and she required daily insulin.

Following Ayurvedic treatment at Patanjali Wellness, he reported improvement in her condition. “Now my daughter’s sugar levels are normal, and she is not facing any problems,” he said.

The treatment approach included a combination of therapies, pranayama, yoga, and a monitored diet plan.

The Holistic Treatment Approach

The common thread across these cases is a comprehensive treatment model rooted in Ayurveda’s core philosophy—addressing the root cause of illness.

Key elements include:

Therapies: Hydrotherapy, mud therapy, detox practices
Pranayama: Techniques such as Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhati, and Ujjayi
Yoga: Structured physical postures for strength and flexibility
Diet: Simple, natural foods including fruits and boiled meals

This integrated approach aims to restore balance across physical and metabolic systems rather than focusing solely on isolated symptoms.

Growing Interest in Traditional Healing Systems

These patient experiences reflect a broader trend of individuals exploring Ayurveda as a primary or complementary healthcare pathway. Chronic conditions such as metabolic disorders, post-viral complications, and long-term illnesses are increasingly being addressed through lifestyle-based interventions rooted in traditional knowledge.

At centres like Patanjali Wellness, such recovery journeys are presented as part of a wider shift toward natural healing practices aligned with modern health needs.
