Gorakhnath AYUSH University - Mahayogi Gorakhnath AYUSH University Performs 100 Surgeries in 6 Months

Mahayogi Gorakhnath AYUSH University has completed 100 surgeries within just six months of its operation theatre becoming functional, marking a significant milestone in the field of Ayurvedic surgical care.

The achievement highlights the institution’s growing role in offering alternative and holistic treatment options, alongside increasing patient trust in Ayurveda-based procedures.

Vice-Chancellor Highlights Growing Patient Confidence

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ramchandra Reddy congratulated the medical team for their efforts, calling the milestone a major accomplishment.

He noted that Ayurvedic surgeries are based on “safe and natural techniques” and have helped nearly 100 patients recover from various medical conditions.

Dr. Reddy also pointed out that patient footfall has been steadily rising, attributing the trend to the effectiveness and safety of these treatments. According to him, the minimally invasive nature of Ayurvedic procedures promotes natural healing and reduces recovery time, making them an increasingly preferred option.

Range of Procedures and Specialized Therapies

Surgical specialist Dr. Manoj Chaurasia shared that a wide range of procedures have been successfully carried out at the facility.

These include surgeries for conditions such as fibroadenoma, fissure, fistula, and cyst, all of which have shown positive outcomes. He also highlighted the use of Agnikarma therapy, a specialised Ayurvedic procedure, for treating warts and similar conditions.

Dr. Chaurasia acknowledged the contributions of the medical team, including Neerja Jain and staff nurse Kshama Shukla, for maintaining consistent success in patient care.

From Weekly to Daily Surgeries

The operation theatre was inaugurated on October 15, 2023, with three surgeries performed on the first day. Initially, procedures were conducted once a week.

However, with growing demand and increased capacity, the schedule has expanded significantly. Surgeries are now performed daily based on patient requirements, reflecting improved utilisation of the facility and rising acceptance of Ayurvedic surgical methods.
