Charaka’s message for humanity on new year
Before I begin about the message of the great Sage Charaka, first of all I must explain a little about the importance and significance of the Indian moon New Year that falls on 25th March this year.
Month of Chaitra, which begins on March new moon, is very holy in our tradition. It is the beginning of the Hindu lunar New Year. It is also called by various names like Ugadi or Gudi Padwa or other names in different parts of the country. Month of Chaitra or the beginning of the Hindu Lunar year also marks the major seasonal change from the end of the winter to the beginning of the summer.
